The Cotteswold Dairy Academy 2024

The Cotteswold Dairy Academy is an internally taught 10-month programme designed to enhance business acumen while providing individuals with practical, educational knowledge that can be immediately applied in their daily roles. This empowers participants to advance their careers and develop strong leadership skills as the course progresses.

In line with the company’s purpose of being at the heart of a responsible and sustainable dairy community, the programme guides participants through workshops aligned with the Academy’s Cultural Pillars: Leading, Performing, Well-being, and Structure. Led by senior leaders within the organisation, Cotteswold Dairy Academy covers essential business fundamentals and equips candidates with the tools necessary to effectively manage and lead change. In doing so, it drives both business success and the company’s commitment to sustainability and responsible practices across the industry.

Cotteswold Dairy Academy Purpose day.

On Tuesday, 5th November, members of the Cotteswold Dairy Academy cohort participated in a purposeful day of community involvement. The event took place at the Springbank Community Centre allotment, where the team assisted with its maintenance. Inherited by the Springbank Community Centre two years ago, the allotment serves as a vital resource for growing vegetables that support the community food pantry.

The cohort carried out various maintenance tasks—such as weeding, strimming, trimming, and pruning—to ensure the allotment was prepared for the winter months ahead. This hands-on activity reinforced the company’s purpose of being part of a responsible and sustainable dairy community. By supporting local initiatives like the Springbank Community Centre, the team helped promote sustainable practices and contribute to the well-being of the wider community.

Graduation Day

Cotteswold Dairy Academy’s graduation day was a celebration of the cohort’s hard work and dedication. Each participant presented a project to the senior leadership team and those who took part in the academy, offering innovative solutions to improve various aspects of the business. The presentations were both insightful and impactful, showcasing how far each individual had come in their professional development. “This is one of the most rewarding days of the year, celebrating our rising stars,” - Operations Director, Justin Young.

The day also included a fun and challenging escape room experience, where the cohort’s teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills were put to the test. It was a fitting conclusion to a programme that not only focused on business development but also nurtured collaboration, leadership, and communication skills that will continue to help drive the company’s success in the future.
